NHS Grampain has announced that work will shortly get underway on a new multi-storey car park for patients and visitors at the Foresterhill Health Campus. Funded by a generous donation from The Wood Foundation, the new facility will add around 1,000 spaces and include charging points for electronic vehicles.

This will necessitate the closure of the existing visitor car park on Monday 17th October. As planned the adjacent staff tarmac car park will be given over to the construction team and a small number of visitor spaces. Visitor parking will be significantly reduced until the expected project completion date of July 2017. Given the existing pressure on car parking on the site visitors are encouraged to use alternatives such as public transport, parking off site or arranging lifts to and from the campus.

There will be no change to patient parking allocation on the core site e.g. at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, the Rotunda entrance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. However it is expected pressure on these spaces will increase during the project. Parking at Foresterhill Health Centre is only for patients attending appointments there.
