Buying Tickets
First Bus tickets can be purchased on the bus using cash or contactless payment, via the First Bus App or can be purchased from the travel shop.
Stagecoach tickets can be purchased on the bus (cash, contactless or smart card) or via the Stagecoach Bus App.
GrassHOPPER Pass

The Grasshopper ticket is a great way to travel in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, just hop on or hop off any bus.
Grasshopper tickets are available as a day pass or a weekly pass from your bus driver, available on a zoned basis.

Concessionary Travel
As a resident in Scotland you are eligible for free bus travel around your local area and across Scotland by using a National Entitlement Card / Young Scot National Entitlement Card if you:
- Are over 60
- Have a disability
- Are aged 5-21
(Under 5's can travel free without a card).
The National Entitlement Card (NEC) is Scotland’s National Smartcard. Supported by Scottish Government to deliver national and local services, the NEC makes it convenient for citizens to access various public services (such as bus travel) and facilities with only one card.

Student Travel
Both First Bus and Stagecoach offer discounted travel for students, available as both passes and tickets, provided you have a valid student card.
